'a pó is supported entirely by donations. There are a number of ways that you can contribute to our success. The program is in constant search for volunteer instructors (from all scientific fields), equipment for future projects, and funding. Download a brochure here.

Donations

'a pó currently operates on a minimal budget. However, to develop the program we are seeking to expand our budget. Funds help to make purchases required for instruction and field research, and with enough financial support the program may be able to offer a modest stipend for instructors. All donations are tax-deductible in the United States. To make a financial contribution, please contact Britton Shepardson (terevaka.netgmail.com).

Equipment

Given the rich cultural heritage of Rapa Nui, 'a pó takes archaeological research as its foundation for instruction and enrichment. However, in order to conduct high-caliber archaeological surveys, the program is in desperate need of basic equipment. Digital cameras, a laptop computer, and a total mapping station are instruments vital to archaeological survey that the program needs most urgently. Check our wishlist page to see what else we are looking for from time to time. To donate equipment, please contact terevaka.netgmail.com.

Volunteer Instructors

Rapa Nui presents an ideal setting for scientific research of all kinds. 'a pó offers housing for graduate students that wish to conduct long-term research. In exchange, researchers are asked to develop a curriculum for local Rapa Nui high school students and teach courses at the local museum within their field of specialization. Graduate students from all fields interested in this opportunity are encouraged to contact terevaka.netgmail.com and develop a brief proposal.
