This map was made in the field as an exercise for students to learn or refine their mapping techiques and to guide the production of a scaled photograph. From a datum, a baseline was set along the bottom of the ahu wall, and vertical measurements were taken with a stadia rod. A vertical control (indicated) was put in using a line level to account for the uneven ground surface.
NEXT STEP: Taking a scaled photograph.
